V stredu 2.novembra sa v Istanbule konala medzinárodná konferencia, na ktorej sa zúčastnili predstavitelia vyše 20-tich krajín, aby spoločne prediskutovali a dohodli sa na budúcom spoločnom postupe vo vojne zmietanom Afganistane. Konferencia sa konala v tento deň aj pre pripomenutie 10-ročného výročia „víťazstva nad Talibanom“.
