“In the modern history of Slovakia and its Armed Forces this is already the 3rd Special Operations Task Unit (SOTU) rotation of the 5th Special Operations Regimen that leaves for a war operation. Each of these professionals will personally contribute not only to the safety of the Afghani people and to the renovation of the country damaged by war, but also to the hopes and expectations of the locals for a better future."

The MoD´s State Secretary Miloš Koterec arrived in Iraq for the talks with the Iraqi Defense Minister Saadoon Aldulaimy. The main topics included bilateral cooperation and the upcoming execution of the Defense Cooperation Agreement.

(September 1-2) On weekend the SIAF 2012International Air Fest welcomed tens of thousands of aircraft and aerobatics enthusiasts in Sliač. Flights of L-29 and L-159 aircraft started the seven-hour long show on both days; followed by historical aircraft and two MiG-29AS fighters dogfighting in the sky.

Slovenský minister zahraničných vecí Miroslav Lajčák sa stretol so svojím macedónskym kolegom Nikolom Poposkim, s ktorým diskutoval o aktuálnej situácii na Balkáne, ako aj o zmenách v macedónskej vládnej koalícii.

Slovenská republika si dnes pripomína 20. výročie prijatia Ústavy Slovenskej republiky, ktorá sa stala najvyšším zákonom neskôr vzniknutého samostatného suverénneho štátu. Slovenská národná rada ju prijala 1.septembra 1992.
